Center for Speech and Language Disorders

Providing language, speech, voice and swallowing services for West Texas

Who we are:

The Center for Speech and Language Disorders is part of the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Abilene Christian University.  The center is located on the first floor of the Don H. Morris Center on the west side of the ACU campus, just north of Brown Library.

Treatment services are provided by graduate students majoring in Communication Sciences and Disorders.  All services are provided under the direct supervision of licensed and certified speech-language pathologists.

We conduct comprehensive evaluations through the use of formal and informal testing.  The outcome of an assessment is expressed in a written report including clinical findings and recommendations.

Frequency of treatment services is determined according to individual needs.  Generally, clients are seen on an individual basis.  Family and caregivers are involved in the intervention process for education and generalization of communication strategies.
