Jaime joined the faculty of the Department of Marriage and Family Therapy at ACU in 2004, where she currently serves as an Assistant Professor and the Director of the Marriage and Family Institute. She specializes in the area of couples and sex therapy and is responsible for preparing graduate students for their clinical internships at the Marriage and Family Institute. In addition to her teaching and administrative responsibilities, Jaime has developed a program of quantitative research focusing on the integration of sexuality, spirituality, and differentiation of self. Jaime has a passion for mentoring students in research and presents research with students each year at regional, national, and international professional conferences. Jaime has written several book chapters and articles for peer-reviewed publications such as Early Child Development and Care; Our Common Body of Knowledge (3rd edition); and The Flame Still Burns Brightly: Immigrant Families within the U.S. Context: Adaptation, Acculturation, Resiliency, and Larger Systems Interface. Jaime is the co-editor of the 4th edition of Reviewing Our Common Body of Knowledge: MFT License Exam Preparation Manual, published in 2008 by the Texas Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.

Jaime is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapy Associate in the state of Texas. She is in private practice at the Ministry of Counseling and Enrichment in Abilene, where she provides individual, couple, and family counseling. Jaime is the co-chair of the Marriage and Family Therapy Education Committee  of the TAMFT; the secretary of the Abilene chapter of TAMFT; and a member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. She is also associated with the Zoe Group as a marriage enrichment resource speaker for their annual Look to the Hills conferences in Tennessee, California, and Texas.

Jaime and her husband, Eric, are members of Highland Church of Christ, where they are Huddle leaders for the high school class of 2012 and where Jaime regularly conducts adult classes on marital and family topics. Eric is the Director of Development for Big Brothers Big Sisters of West Central Texas, and both he and Jaime are matched with "littles." They have two cats, Oscar and Cassie.
