Kurt’s preferred theoretical approach is Internal Family Systems, and in supervision, he can often be found challenging his supervisees to invoke their “core selves” when working with their clients. In addition to his work at ACU, Kurt has a private practice, Cedar Creek Counseling, where he specializes in individual, family, and couple therapy as well as life coaching. Kurt earned his masters in marriage and family therapy in 2002 at ACU. Kurt is a clinical member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.
Kurt is married to Michelle, and they have three children. Kurt and his family attend the Highland Church of Christ where he frequently teaches classes on marriage and family relationships.
