About Us
The mission of the Department of Marriage and Family Therapy is consistent with the University mission of educating men and women for Christian service and leadership around the world. The means of achieving such a mission include:
-
Training graduates to occupy positions as therapists within a variety of practice settings in the secular community (i.e., mental health centers, private practice settings, inpatient treatment facilities, and child placement agencies);
-
Training graduates for positions within the Church community and its various settings and ministries (i.e., youth, youth and family, involvement, missionary efforts, counseling, and family life education); and
-
Equipping graduates for advanced academic settings (i.e., working toward the doctorate in a variety of disciplines, including family therapy, family studies, clinical psychology, counseling psychology, social work, and ministry).
