Dr. Willis taught at David Lipscomb University before coming to ACU.  Dr. Willis was named ACU Teacher of the Year in 1973 and was awarded the E.W. McMillan Distinguished Professorship in 1987.

He is the editor of the Living Word Commentary series, published by ACU Press, and wrote commentaries on Genesis, 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel, and Isaiah.

Scholarly merits, however, are not the only attributes that impress students. His ability to remember all of their names and many of their birthdays endears this man to many -- not to mention the cookies he often brings to class. He also serves as an elder at the Highland Church of Christ.
