Dr. Reese began his tenure at ACU in August 1988 as assistant professor of preaching in the Department of Graduate Bible and Ministry. He was appointed chair of the Graduate Department of Bible and Ministry in May 1990.

Dr. Reese was appointed Dean of the College of Biblical Studies in 1997 and the Dean of the Graduate School of Theology in January 2000.  He continues teaching regularly in the college as well as preaching and conducting seminars both in the U.S. and abroad.

Before coming to ACU, he served as a minister for churches in Missouri, Oklahoma, Iowa, Tennessee and Texas. He is an assistant editor of and is on the advisory board of Leaven.
