Requirements:
Master of Divinity Degree: An M.Div. degree (minimum of 78 graduate hours) or its educational equivalent from an accredited institution is required for admission to the program.
Application: An application for admission may be obtained from the Doctor of Ministry office. Applications will be reviewed by the admission committee only after completion of all the following requirements:
Ministry Experience: Applicants must be currently involved in a full-time ministry, and must have completed three years of ministry.
GRE: Applicants must provide an official copy of their Graduate Record Examination scores (GRE). Test must have been taken within the past five years. Should the applicant score below the minimum requirement or be unable to produce documentation for scores, the test must be retaken. (The GRE is offered on college campuses throughout the nation on a periodic basis.)
Transcripts: Official transcripts of the applicant's undergraduate and graduate work, with degrees posted, must be submitted to the D.Min. office. Grade Point Average A minimum grade point average in prior graduate work of 3.2 (on a 4.0 scale) must be documented.
Letter of Endorsement: A letter from the applicant's elders or supervisors, acknowledging their approval for the minister's participation in the program must be presented.
Psychometrics: The MMPI (Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory) and the 16PF must be obtained from, completed, and returned to the D.Min. office. The fee for the testing package is $125 and, if the applicant is admitted, will cover interpretation of the individual results during the Orientation course. Additional tests will be administered during the Orientation course with no further charge.
Recommendations: Four letters of recommendation from persons knowledgeable of the applicant's personal character and performance in ministry must also be included.
Personal Statement: A four to six page, typed (double spaced) self-reflection statement describing the applicant's values, needs, and objectives for growth as a Christian minister must accompany the application.
Interview: A personal interview with the D.Min. director may be required. Application Deadline All admission requirements are to be completed, no later than January 15. Upon completion of all the above requirements, the applicant's file will be reviewed by the D.Min. Admissions and Procedures Committee for official action. Letters of admission are mailed in the spring of each year with new students beginning the program in June of each year.
Entry Time Limit: If an applicant does not enter immediately after notification of acceptance into the program, the admission will be honored for one additional year only.
