The GST Alumni Association

The Graduate School of Theology continues to be interested in working as closely as possible with our graduates. We want to be good partners with our graduates, whether they are serving churches or engaged in the academy. As part of that commitment, the GST has established an Alumni Association for all individuals who have done graduate work in either the former Bible Department or in the current GST. We also invite interested non-graduates to be involved in the association.

The purposes for the GST Alumni Association include the following:

  1. To obtain, maintain, and provide pertinent data on GST graduates
  2. To create a sense of identity for those students who graduated from theological or ministerial programs prior to the formation of the GST in 1997
  3. To communicate with graduates of the GST and other interested friends concerning vital programs, initiatives, and needs of the Graduate School of Theology and Abilene Christian University
  4. To promote and encourage loyalty in past and present GST students
  5. To involve alumni and friends in identifying potential students and helping to recruit them for enrollment in the GST
  6. To receive feedback from alumni and friends that will assist us in improving our ministry events, services and resources
  7. To make available to all GST Alumni Association members access to online resources for research.

Dan Bouchelle, from Amarillo, has agreed to serve as the first GST Alumni Association president. He will help select the first slate of officers and an advisory council of 6-9 members who will serve three-year terms and will reflect the diversity of all our graduates, including time since graduation and current profession. The officers and alumni council will meet at least once a year and will serve as advisors to the GST dean and associate dean concerning such things as fundraising, annual events such as Lectures on Preaching, public image, and ministry partnership with churches and church leaders.

Membership in the GST Alumni Association is free.
