Neil teaches upper level textual classes. He specializes in the New Testament gospels. Neil is a member of South 11th and Willis Church of Christ in Abilene where he has served as an elder and minister.
Neil graduated from Baylor University with a bachelor's degree in 1952. He earned his master's degree from Baylor University in 1955. He received his PhD from Duke University in 1958.
Neil has authored numerous articles and publications over the years and is currently in the process of writing a book.
Neil has three grown children: Donna, Lu Anne, and Michelle and several grandchildren. He recently remarried; his new wife's name is Marjorie.
