Mbale, Uganda

History:

     Shawn and Linda Tyler first arrived in Mbale in February 1995. They were joined by the Ian and Danetta Shelburne in February 1996 and Sandi Piek also in February. Phillip and Laura Shero joined in July of 1998. There are currently three teachers and another family - David and Brenda Vick. They work in a multi-tribal area with an emphasis on rural and urban work. They spend much effort in leadership training and congregational seminars. Sandi works with women in the villages and Melissa Owen has spent two years with health training.

 

Intern goals:

  • Possibility to teach specific groups (children, women, etc.)
  • Work on cultural studies, language, missiology, and team functions.
  • Work on a two week campaign for the town church.
