Meet Ashley Markgraf

Name: Ashley Markgraf
Hometown: Boerne, Texas
Classification: Junior
Track: Musical Theatre

Describe a memorable event or image in an ACU play in which you have performed, directed, designed or crewed or one you've seen here.
I will never forget how much Eurydice impacted me. The way it was directed was stunning, the set was stunning, and the actors were beyond phenomenal. And I saw it without lights, costumes, or with all of the sounds.

How has faith impacted your journey as an artist?
My faith has definitely been tested these past two years. The world of theatre is notorious for that, but being around so many people that love God and are really rooting for you to keep going helps you to motivate yourself to be better, and God is just awesome!

What advice do you have for a prospective theatre major?
I would say that it's natural for people to not be so humble about the training they've had or the experiences they've had before coming here, but it really doesn't matter when you get here - you're all at the same level and no one will love you more for what you've done before coming to ACU. Also, take as many dance classes as you can! They are so helpful!
