The Psychology Clinic at Abilene Christian University is a state of the art psychoeducational facility located in Chambers Hall on the ACU campus. Working in the clinic is an invaluable part of graduate student’s training experience. The clinic is staffed by graduate students working under the supervision of experienced licensed psychologists.
Graduate students work in the clinic as a part of their course-work and practicum experiences. In this setting, students gain essential experiences working with practice and actual clients to further their skills and competencies, as they prepare for professional practice. Students receive supervision and constructive feedback from faculty supervisors who are committed to guiding students and facilitating the development of their assessment and therapeutic skills.
Consistent with ACU’s commitment to excellence in Christian service, the Psychology Clinic provides affordable services to Abilene and the Big Country area. Graduate students provide both personal counseling and psychological evaluation for adults and children who may otherwise not be able to afford such services.
The clinic has been designed to include facilities for conducting assessments, counseling, play therapy and group therapy. The clinic also has a state-of-the-art Landro audio/video observation and recording system, which is used for supervision, observation and transcribing purposes.
