General Education Requirements

    University Core:

  • English:  Composition and Rhetoric (ENGL 111), Literature (3 hours)

  • Speech:  Fundamentals of Communication (COMS 111)

  • History:  American History I (HIST 221)

  • Science:  General Chemistry I (CHEM 133), Engineering Physics I (PHYS 120)

  • Mathematics:  Calculus I (MATH 185)

  • Exercise Science:  EXSC 100 and 3 activity classes

    BS Degree Core:

  • English:  Business and Professional Writing (ENGL 326)

  • Social Sciences/Humanities:  American History II (HIST 222), National Government (POLS 225), States and Federal System (POLS 226)

  • Fine Arts:  Choose 1 from ART 101, MUSM 230, THEA 220, or THEA 250

  • Engineering Mechanics:  Statics (ENGR 220)

  • Engineering Mechanics:  Dynamics (ENGR 222)

  • Introduction to Electronics Lecture/Lab (ENGR 340/341)

  • Network Analysis (ENGR 388)

  • Successful completion of 32 hours of engineering courses at the Unversity of Texas at Arlington

Additional Graduation Requirements

  • Only courses with grade of "C" or better transfer to UTA

  • The minimum GPA for acceptance into UTA is 2.50.

  • The minimum number of advanced hours for graduation is 33.

  • The minimum total of ACU hours is 96 for BSIE and 97 for BSEE.

  • The minimum total hours for graduation is 128 for BSIE and 129 for BSEE.
