Mr. Kevin Whitelaw is the Associate Director of Bands and Director of the Big Purple Marching Band, for which he arranges music and writes drill. He also conducts the concert band, teaches instrumental music education courses, and supervises student teachers. Originally from Big Rapids, Michigan, Mr. Whitelaw earned his Bachelor's degree in Instrumental Music Education at Abilene Christian University and his M.M. in Conducting at Stephen F. Austin State University. Prior to his appointment at ACU, he taught in the Texas public schools and was an Adjunct Instructor of Music at Stephen F. Austin.

Mr. Whitelaw is a member of the College Band Directors National Association, Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Bandmasters Association, Pi Kappa Lambda National Music Honor Society, and an honorary member of Kappa Kappa Psi.
