Dr. Julie Pruett

Dr. Julie Pruett holds degrees from Texas State University and the University of Texas. Her doctoral research focused on studying how students learn in order that that information might be applied to learning how to sing. She has taught voice at Abilene Christian University since 1988. Prior to that, she taught at Texas State University.
Although the bulk of her professional life has been spent teaching, Dr. Pruett still finds time for professional engagements on occasion. A student of the late master teachers David Garvey and Ge`rard Souzay, she has a special love for Art Song Literature. She joined the gospel singing group “Alabanza” four years ago, and with them has visited Chile, Costa Rica, and Venezuela. Dr. Julie Pruett is married to Randy Pruett and has a beautiful daughter-in-law and two sons.
