Staci A. Spring teaches applied bassoon and other music courses for the McMurry, Hardin-Simmons, and Abilene Christian Universities, while also maintaining a private studio of local junior and senior high school students. She performs regularly with the Abilene Philharmonic and San Angelo Symphony Orchestras, as well as frequently collaborating in chamber music performances. She has been on the faculty of the Abilene Summer Music Festival since 2008, and has served as the co-director of the McMurry Summer Band Camps.
Ms. Spring earned Master of Music degrees in Historical Musicology and Bassoon Performance from The Florida State University, where she studied bassoon with Jeff Keesecker. She is currently pursuing a DMA in Bassoon Performance at the University of North Texas, where she studies with Kathleen Reynolds. Ms. Spring is a Priddy Scholarship recipient, and will complete a Graduate Certificate in Arts Leadership in 2012. Recent scholarly activities include attending the 2009 and 2011 Banff Masterclasses, publishing several essays for Salem Press, and presenting research at the CMS 2008 Super-Regional Conference.
