Gregory Straughn teaches courses in music history and chairs the music department at Abilene Christian University.His dissertation,on ensemble forms in the operas of Jules Massenet, was completed at the University of North Texas in 2004. He has spoken and published on a wide variety of operatic subjects from Lully to Wagner. As a cellist, he performs in several early music ensembles in the Dallas Metroplex including the Denton and Dallas Bach Societies as well as the Abilene Philharmonic Orchestra.
