Auditions for 2015-2016 will be held August 20-28, with our first rehearsal Monday, August 31, at 4 p.m. (strings only) in Fry Hall.
Sign up sheets are in the hallway outside Dr. Ward's door (WPAC 129).
Low stress audition - please bring something prepared to play (a solo or etude of your choice), and prepare the following short excerpts that are linked below. Excerpts are from Egmont Overture by Beethoven, and Hansel and Gretel by Humperdinck (bass clarinet and low brass only). Recordings are readily available on Spotify, iTunes, YouTube and Naxos online (available through the ACU Library).
Strings - Audition is for seating in the group only.
Woodwinds & Brass - Generally speaking the instrumentation is woodwinds in pairs, 4 horns, 3 trumpets, 3 trombones and 1 Tuba. We do however double or expand those numbers depending on the repertoire and other factors.
Percussion - assignments are made by Dr. Ward and Dr. Teel. If you are interested in playing please communicate with them.
Auditon Excerpts - Fall 2015 (PDF files; hard copies are available in the WPAC)
