Auditions for the fall semester 2013 will be held the first week of class, with our first rehearsal Monday, September 2nd, at 3:30 p.m.
Sign up sheets are in the hallway outside Dr. Ward's door (WPAC 129).
Low stress audition--please bring something prepared to play, a solo or etude of your choice, region or all-state audition etude, etc. and prepare the following short excerpts that are below. These excerpts are from Nabucco Overture by Verdi. (Horns, your excerpt is from Siegfried Idyll by Wagner). Recordings are readily available on Spotify, YouTube, and iTunes, and I will also put recordings on OpenClass.
Strings--Audition is for seating in the group only, not for membership.
Woodwinds & Brass - Needs are determined by the literature we are performing, but generally speaking the maximum in the group will be woodwinds in pairs, 2-4 horns, 2-3 trumpets, 2-3 trombones, 1 tuba.
Percussion assignments are made by Dr. Ward and Dr. Teel.
