A Cappella Chorus

a cappella chorus

The A Cappella Chorus of Abilene Christian University is the oldest A Cappella Chorus in the Southwest. Begun in 1932 by the late Dr. Leonard Burford, it is dedicated to the study and performance of the finest choral literature of all musical eras. Auditions are held each spring and open to all students. Remaining vacancies are filled in a general choral audition during fall registration. A Cappella meets four hours each week. The A Cappella Chorus takes one extended tour and gives four major concerts each year. A Cappella is directed by Dr. Sean Pullen.

General choral auditions are held the first week of the fall semester for transfer students, incoming freshmen, and students changing their major to music. Auditions consist of a brief warm-up, sight reading, and the singing of an easy, familiar song.
