The Department of Mathematics offers the bachelor of science degree with a concentration in actuarial science. Courses taken in the department and in the College of Business Administration prepare an individual for the first two actuarial exams.

Below are the descriptions of the first two exams and a list of courses which one would take to prepare for each exam.
Exam P/1: Probability
This exam covers the fundamental tools for quantitatively assessing risk and requires application of calculus and probability to problems set in a business context.

Exam FM/2: Financial Mathematics
This exam covers the fundamental concepts of financial mathematics and how those concepts are applied.
