Majors
The Department of History offers the Bachelor of Arts degree in History, the Bachelor of Science degree in History with Teacher Certification (Grades 8-12) and the Bachelor of Science degree in Social Studies for Teacher Certification (Grades 8-12). A minor in history may be added to any other major field.
- Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in History - a liberal arts degree that prepares students to enter a variety of career fields and graduate studies, including government service, journalism, law, professorship, and museums, archives, and libraries
- Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in History with Teacher Certification - a collaborative degree with the Department of Teacher Education, combining rigorous study of history with extensive teacher preparation to equip students to be exceptional teachers of high school history
- Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in International Studies (INTS) - an interdisciplinary, cross-cultural major that focuses on distinct world regions and languages, this degree is applicable to a variety of professional occupations
- Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in International Studies (INTU) - an interdisciplinary, cross-cultural major that focuses on the United States, designed for students who graduated from an international high school or who have lived outside the U.S. for more than 8 years
- Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Social Studies for Teacher Certification - a collaborative degree with the Department of Teacher Education, combining rigorous study of history, geography, political science, sociology, and economics with extensive teacher preparation to equip students to be exceptional teachers of high school social studies
