Application Process

The requirement for admission into a College of Optometry are 1) completion of a baccalaureate degree prior to matriculation, 2) satisfactory completion of the Optometry Admission Test (OAT), and 3) completion of all prerequisiste courses prior to enrollment.

The OAT application should be mailed at least one month before the student plans to take the test in either October or February at testing centers throughout the United States. Students must take the test no later than the fall of the year preceding the desired admission date.

  Preoptometry Courses

Prerequisite courses may not be taken on a "pass-fail" basis. If you have any questions, contact the Office of Student Affairs and Admissions of the prospective school before enrolling in your pre-optometry program.
