Body & Soul Excellent Faculty
ACU faculty provide a broad curriculum to prepare students for research and advanced training in various medical fields. They provide pre-health curriculum support for students entering schools of medicine, dentistry, public health and other pre-health professions. Studies of biology also allow students to better appreciate the creation and our roles as stewards and caretakers.
Here is what our alumni say about the Body & Soul faculty at ACU:
- Jamie Marr Carlile, first-year dental student:ACU helped me get to where I am today, University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio Dental School. Teachers provided challenging classes with many hands-on activities to further enforce the ideas being taught. ACU's idea of student-teacher relationship is truly life changing. I am a firm believer that ACU definitely influenced me in having the courage to apply to dental school and then being accepted into dental school. Dr. Reeves never once denied the chance to talk to me and encourage me. Dr. Sutherlin was so knowledgeable in her area of study and definitely had the desire to pass on her knowledge to students. She always tried to put things in perspective and make class/lab as applicable as possible. Dr. Bian honestly loves each and every student. It was a honor to be a student in his class and learn from someone who has done so much with his life.
- Austin Church, D.D.S: The science classes at ACU more than adequately prepared me for dental school. Dr. Charles Mattis was one of my most wonderful mentors. I would never have made it to dental school without his help. He was always encouraging and helped me decide which classes to take to better prepare me for dental school. I have been so happy with my profession.
