Body & Soul Program gives edge to future health professionals 

It's hard to tell who gets the most out of Body & Soul - the students it was designed for or the doctors and dentists who make it happen.

Brianna Lien, freshman biochemistry major from Las Vegas, Nevada

One of the things Brianna is most looking forward to this semester is the chance to participate in the Body & Soul Program - something she thinks is a great experience for a freshman.

As part of ACU's Body & Soul program, Georgia has shadowed an orthopedic surgeon, an OB-GYN, and doctors at Abilene Regional and Hendrick medical centers.

Someday Brittany Armenta wants to work with kids who have cancer. As a pediatric oncologist, she'll walk into a hospital or a clinic every day and face children whose lives have been turned upside down by a disease they don't fully understand.

ACU's innovative Body & Soul is a specialized program for students who are serious about medicine, dentistry or other health professions.
