 Over the past 20 years, English has expanded into a preprofessional major, not only a major for teachers. Several publications give career advice: Great Jobs for English Majors, Jobs for English Majors and Other Smart People, and What in the World Can You Do Besides Teach?These publications lists dozens of occupations that have been successfully pursued by persons with English degrees. Students can help clarify their goals by consulting the career library in the Placement Office or by taking a career inventory test at ACU's Testing and University Assessment Center.
