Why you do what you do and why at ACU: Honestly I just kind of fell into teaching, I stayed at ACU and got my masters and loved the classroom; so when the opportunity came up to get my PhD I decided to go for it. I really like the friendships I’ve made at ACU and I like the environment. I just really think the ACU students and the environment are the best and that’s why I’m here.
What you expect from students: The best.
What you want to give your students: My best.
Personal: I have one daughter, her name is Téa and she is eight. I come from an ACU family. My brother and two sisters went here. Also, I was born at Hendrick (a hospital here in Abilene) because my father was working on his MBA at ACU. After I was first born my dad took me to the ACU campus and walked around the campus with me; I joke that he sold my soul to ACU that day.
Outside interests: I love politics and I am highly involved in political activities. I enjoy volunteering with the Junior League of Abilene, I’m very involved in anything to do with breast cancer awareness, and I am a sponsor for a social club on campus, Delta Theta.
Research Interests: My research focus is on immigration rhetoric, political rhetoric, race and gender studies, and presidential rhetoric.
