EXPERIENCE

1991-pres.       Chair, Department of Communication, Abilene Christian University. Coordinator of all administrative responsibilities of the department of Communication, involving eight full time faculty, six part time faculty, and ten graduate teaching assistants. The department advises more than one hundred undergraduate majors and one hundred-twenty-five graduate students in BA, BS, MA, and MS programs.

1993-2000       Director of Institutional Effectiveness, Abilene Christian University.  Coordinator of program assessment.  Duties include help and evaluation of academic and non-academic departments, colleges, divisions, etc. in compliance with Accrediting Agencies' expectations and Continuous Quality Improvement.

1991-1993       Director of Institutional Research, Abilene Christian University.

Coordinator and evaluator of information related to the state-of-the-institution used for long range strategic planning.

1988-1990       Division Head, Human Communication, Department of Communication, Abilene Christian University.

Coordinated the teaching loads, schedules, and research teaching reductions for eight faculty and nine graduate teaching assistants.  Also coordinated the advising for one hundred and eighty undergraduate majors.

1991-pres.       Professor of Communication, Department of Communication, Abilene Christian University.

Teaching specialties include: Organizational; Nonverbal; Business and Professional Communication; Persuasion; Argumentation and Debate; and Statistics.

Coordinated the Debate and Individual Events team including coaching, scheduling, travel, and fund raising. Efforts led to National Rankings in the top eight or better nine of the eleven years, including National Champion Junior Varsity in 1986.

Taught Fundamentals of Speech Communication and Business and Professional Speaking as well as coached and traveled with the Debate Team.

FUNDRAISING

Coordinated ACU Forensic Program fund-raising from 1980 to 1993. Annual monies averaged approximately $25,000.00. Total exceeded $300,000.00.

Co-coordinated the formation of the Ed & Edna Brown Forensic Endowment with Dr. George Foster-Takamoto and Dr. Carley H. Dodd.  Endowment goal of $1 million is 100% complete.
