Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Chemistry for Teacher Certification
ACU offers the Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Chemistry for Teacher Certification with two separate tracks for students pursuing careers as high school teachers of chemistry, physics, or similar fields:
- B.S. in Chemistry for Chemistry Teacher Certification (8-12) - completion of this degree prepares students to pass the TeXeS teacher certification state exam for grades 8-12 chemistry, qualifying them to teach high school chemistry. This degree combines rigorous study of chemistry through the ACU Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry with extensive teacher preparation through the ACU Department of Teacher Education, so that students are equipped to be an excellent scholar and teacher of chemistry.
- B.S. in Chemistry for Physical Science Teacher Certification (8-12) - completion of this degree prepares students to pass the TeXeS state teacher certification exam for grades 8-12 physical science, qualifying them to teach high school chemistry, physics, or similar courses. This degree combines rigorous study of chemistry, geology, and physics with extensive teacher preparation through the ACU Department of Teacher Education, so that students are equipped to be an excellent scholar and teacher of chemistry.
