Are you interested in completing your degree?

What do I need to know?

  • You can earn up to 24 credit hours for knowledge you have gained outside the classroom.
  • You can take courses and still maintain your job and enjoy your family.
  • Coursework you have completed in the past, no matter how long ago, may be counted toward your degree.
  • You may receive credit for military and civilian training as evaluated by the American Council on Education (ACE).
  • As a BAS student, you will receive a 40% reduction in tuition.
  • You may also be eligible for federal or state grants and/or low interest or no interest guaranteed student loans.

Is there a typical BAS student?

Although BAS students represent a variety of ages and experiences, the average BAS student is about 38 years old.  Most are parents with full-time careers in progress.  Many have returned to college to change their career paths, to become more valuable to their employers, and, more importantly, to fulfill a previously un obtained goal in their lives.

Am I eligible to enter the BAS program?

  • Are you at least 25 years of age?
  • Do you have a minimum of two years work experience?
  • Do you have some college credit?

If your answer is "yes," you can apply!

What are the admission requirements?

  • You need to fill out the Bachelor of Applied Studies Application.  You can do this on line or you can print a copy, fill it out, and send it in through the mail.
  • You will need to send a $25 (non-refundable) application fee.
  • You will need to provide satisfactory official transcripts of all previous college work. I you have completed fewer than 30 college credit hours, you will need to send an official high school transcript.
  • You will also need to compose a two page, typed, "statement of purpose" letting us know about you and why you would like to finish your degree through BAS.
  • You will need two recommendations from non-family members. One of those may be personal and the other academic or job-related.
  • If you have less than 64 acceptable college semester hours, or do not have an associate degree, you may need to take the SAT, ACT, COMPASS, WAIS, or other appropriate test.
