Alpha Epsilon Sigma (AES formerly Aggie Club) is composed of Abilene Christian University students who have an interest in agriculture or come from that background. Many of the members are Agriculture majors who find enjoyment in participating in events with their classmates.
AES club also serves as an "umbrella organization" for the pre-professional clubs. The pre-professional clubs served by AES are: Agribusiness Club; Block and Bridle; Collegiate 4-H/FFA; Delta Tau Alpha; Environmental Science Club; and Rodeo Club. Each of these clubs act as a subsidiary unit to AES while remaining uniquely distinct in orientation.
AES members participate in a variety of events. Every Wednesday morning, members participate in a devotional led by one of their peers or an invited speaker. Members also participate in intramural sport competitions, weekend outreaches to local congregations, Thursday night activities (from movies to softball) and an annual rodeo lead by the Rodeo Club.
To raise money for the club, members organize fundraisers such as the ACU All School Rodeo.
At the beginning of the fall semester, AES sponsors a barbeque to welcome new and prospective students.
We welcome you to Abilene Christian University and invite you to become an active part of Alpha Epsilon Sigma.
The Agribusiness Club is open to students who have an interest in the administrative and economic aspects of agriculture. The club is primarily comprised of Agribusiness majors who are seeking to identify with students who have similar interests.
The Agribusiness Club assists students in finding Professional Agribusiness Societies which accept student members. Their sole purpose is experiential exposure to Agribusiness on an individual basis.
The club is advised by Dr. Foy Mills. The chapter president is Brenna Ellison.

The Block and Bridle Club focuses on agriculture through an emphasis on the many animal related aspects. Abilene Christian University has been a member of this National Organization since 1966.
This club gives students the opportunity to experience animal agriculture from a personal level. They try to get involved in the National Convention yearly and involve students with local producers to broaden the exposure of students to the various practices and beliefs of those associated with Animal agriculture.
This club also encourages student membership in professional organizations.
For more information about Block and Bridle, please contact the chapter advisor, Ed Brokaw, PhD. The chapter president is Cara Harber.

Agricultural Consortium of Texas (ACT)
The Agriculture Consortium of Texas is composed of thirteen universities offering degrees in agriculture or natural resources. The ACU Department of Agriculture and Environment has been an institutional member of the ACT since 1991. It is the only private university in the consortium. Dr. Ed Brokaw serves as ACU's faculty representative and was president in 1993-94. ACU will host the ACT spring conference in 2007.
Students are an integral part of the ACT. Started and supported by a Kellogg Foundation grant, select students from each university are involved in the spring conference. One outcome of student involvement was formation of the Texas Collegiate Agricultural Students Alliance (TXCasa). Brenna Ellison, sophomore agribusiness major, currently serves as a chairman for 2005-2006.

North American Colleges and Teachers of Agriculture (NACTA)
The ACU Department of Agriculture and Environment is an institutional member of the North American Colleges and Teachers of Agriculture. NACTA is a professional society focusing on promotion and recognition of excellence in teaching agriculture and related areas at the post secondary level in North America.
The Department has a long history of participation in NACTA. ACU faculty members have served as national president, southern region director, Delta Tau Alpha liaison and as chairs and members of various committees. Several ACU faculty hold the distinction of NACTA Teacher Fellows.
Students are also involved in NACTA through an annual national judging conference hosted by a member school. ACU has competed well at these conferences. Students and teams have won several individual and team awards and have contended for sweepstakes honors on several occasions.
