A&E Medina Children's Home Outreach
Professors Emmett Miller and Kent Gallaher led a group of AES students on an outreach trip to the Medina Children’s Home over the weekend of November 2-4. This year the group was asked to help with several projects related to Medina’s holiday decorations, including lighting trees, rigging poles, and setting up displays. The group hosted a hamburger cookout for the children and staff members on Saturday night followed by a devotional led by Dr. Gallaher and a period of fun and games that allowed the kids to interact with the AES club members. The weekend concluded with worship at the Stringtown Road church of Christ in Medina. Dr. Gallaher taught the combined adult classes and Professor Miller brought a message from the Word.
AES club members on the outreach included Family Studies major RaeAnne Durham from Hamilton CO; Environmental Science majors Timber Barkley from Gruver, Tymon Bloomer from Houston, Colton Laws from Clyde, and Jason Davis from Chattanooga, TN; Agribusiness majors Kyle Ferrell from Weatherford, Jessica Bam from Abilene, Benjamin Attkisson from St. Cloud, FL, and J.T. Huff from Lovington, NM; and Animal Science majors Katie Kirkpatrick from Richardson and Cason McInturff from Franklin, TN. Additional adult sponsors on the trip included Mrs. Pat Miller and Ms. Shasta Moore. This was the third consecutive year that the AES club has had an outreach to the Children's Home. The Medina Children’s Home Outreach is just one of the many ways through which A&E seeks to live out ACU’s 21st century vision, producing leaders who think “Critically, Globally and Missionally”, and who are ever striving to “Change the World”!
