Homecoming 2008 BBQ

The 2008 A&E Departmental Homecoming BBQ is always an occasion to celebrate another year of Agricultural and Environmental Science.  This year the current department faculty, staff, and students had an opportunity to reunite with alumni of A&E for the annual dinner and awards presentation.  Current students were presented with scholarship certificates recognizing the awards that they had recieved from the department, and alumni were presented with awards recognizing their career successes.  Dr. Sidney Allen received the 2008 Outstanding Alumnus Award, and Daniel Dominguez and Joseph Bunting were the co-recipients of the 2008 Outstanding Young Professional Award. New to the scholarship presentation this year was the Edwin DuBose Endowed Scholarship, created in honor of "Doc" DuBose, a former professor and continuing friend of the department, and awarded to Melanie Shinsky.  There were 17 other named scholarship recipients, and 28 students recieved the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Endowed Scholarship.
