Academic Excellence Award Winner

     Congratulations go out to Kendra Gregory, senior environmental science and Spanish double major from Pittsburgh, as the first recipient of the Academic Excellence Award from Ag Workers Mutual Auto Insurance.  Along with the award came a $500 scholarship. 
      “I'm pleased that I received this award and I'm glad that they thought I was deserving of it,” said Gregory.
      Ag Workers provides coverage for agriculture professionals in Texas.  They are supporters of students and agricultural programs across the state.  Their support includes funding events for the ACU students both here in Abilene and at functions at other colleges and universities with agriculture programs across the state.  This award and scholarship was created to recognize and help fund a student studying agriculture at a Texas university.
      Gregory will receive her award at the homecoming BBQ for the Agricultural and Environmental Science department on Saturday Sept. 17.
