A&E Attend the 79th FFA Convention in Corpus Christi
Dr. Kent Gallaher (Associate Professor of
Environmental Science),
Mandy Scudder (Administrative Assistant) and
Emmy Clark
(Animal Science and Agribusiness Major) represented the A&E
department at the 79th annual FFA Convention in Corpus Christi, TX,
July 9-12, 2007.
A total of 9,115 students and parents from the
State of Texas registered for the convention. As a result many
conversations ranging from degree plans, career opportunities, areas of
study and encouragement to students was held in booth number

215. A&E was delighted to engage with students regarding career planning
through studies within the department. Students not only engaged in
conversation about careers, but also about what it means to study at a
faith base university and how enriching it can be.
A&E is already planning for the 80th annual FFA Convention which will be held in Lubbock, TX, July 2008. The theme will be
Ignite the Flame!

FFA Association FactThe
Texas FFA Association has many claims to fame. It is one of the
nation's largest FFA state associations with more than 62,000 active
members and nearly 7,000 junior members. More than 1,500 young men and
women are honored each year for their FFA projects and activities and
nearly $2 million in scholarships are awarded each year. Many of our students at A&E benefit from these scholarships.
