Mobile Learning Fellows: The Mobile Learning Leadership Team has made available funds for five Mobile Learning iPhone Fellow positions. Fellows are expected to be researchers who will help to conduct, document, and publish research on mobile learning at a national level.

Academic Publishing Workshop, June 1-23 (Mondays and Tuesdays)The publishing workshop will create an interactive environment where faculty can tailor their prospectus for two publishers. The workshop will by Mondays and Tuesdays, for four hours each day, during Summer II. $300 stipends will be available for the 10 participants who are chosen.

Undergraduate Research Festival, April 13-17
ACU's first Undergraduate Research Festival featured speeches, demonstrations, and posters by students from every field. The festival was part of ACU's annual Honors Week.

ConnectEd Summit February 26-27, 2009Featuring communal vision sessions and targeted breakout workshops in key areas of theory, infrastructure, and deployment, the ConnectEd Summit is focused around a set of "bring-your-own-work workshops." The goal of this summit is to help faculty, technologists, and administrators make connections with peers at other institutions and to facilitate practical, hands-on solutions for mobile learning.
During the 2008 Welcome Week, freshmen at ACU were given their choice of
an Apple iPhone 3G or an iPod touch. This is a new and exciting opportunity to enhance student learning and interaction by adding a mobile dimension! Students and faculty will have the internet at their fingertips at every moment, allowing such activities as in-class polls, use of readily-available media sources in the classroom, and instant communication. ACU will be using the opportunity to continue research into the world of mobile learning and how it may better prepare students for success in the future.
