Dr. Phil Schubert, President
Dr. Phil Schubert, CPA, was named president-elect of Abilene Christian University in February 2010. He took office as the university's 11th president June 1, 2010.
Schubert was named executive vice president in 2007 after serving as vice president for finance for seven years. He is responsible for enrollment management, all financial operations of the university, the implementation of strategic plans related to the 21st-Century Vision, and external partnerships.
He also previously served the university as a development officer, director of student financial services and assistant to the executive vice president.
Schubert is a 1991 graduate of Abilene Christian with a B.B.A. in accounting. He also has an M.B.A. from Duke University, and an Ed.D. in higher education management from the University of Pennsylvania. Before joining the ACU staff in 1993, Schubert was an auditor for Arthur Andersen & Co. in Dallas.
He is a board member and former treasurer of Information Associates of Texas, and he is a member of the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators, the American Institute of CPAs, Texas Society of CPAs and the National Association of College and University Business Officers. He serves on the board of Genesis Network Solutions, and is a member of Southern Hills Church of Christ.
