Jim Holmans is executive assistant to the president at ACU (since April 6, 1998). Prior to coming to ACU, he retired from the U.S. Air Force in the rank of colonel after a career of 30 years.
A Coleman, Texas, native, Holmans received an associate's degree in chemistry from Lubbock Christian University, a bachelor's in chemistry from Texas Lutheran University and a master's in business administration from Boston University. He also graduated from every level of resident professional military education in the Air Force.
Col. Holmans' military career consisted of 15 assignments throughout the United States, Thailand, Belgium and Germany. He served as an executive officer to the commanders at Hanscom Air Force Base, Boston, Mass.; and Dyess Air Force Base, Abilene. He commanded the Air Force contingent of personnel assigned to NATO Headquarters at Brussels, Belgium, and Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE) at Mons, Belgium.
He also held numerous personnel assignments including the preparation of Congressional and Presidential responses to citizen inquiries, the assignment of more than 5,000 mid-level Air Force officers to professional military education and the assignment of more than 16,000 Air Force intelligence personnel around the globe. While stationed at the Pentagon in his last assignment, he directed the worldwide assignments of all Air Force colonels.
Holmans is married to the former Myra Siburt. They have one daughter, Melissa.
