ACU exercise science professor honored by national Christian society

Dickie HillDr. Dickie Hill, Abilene Christian University professor of exercise science and health, was recently honored with the Presidential Award for his service to the Christian Society for Kinesiology and Leisure Studies (CSKLS).

"Dr. Hill is an outstanding scholar in our department," said Dr. Joe Bell, chair of ACU's Department of Exercise Science & Health. "He is constantly writing and presenting, and is a terrific role model for young faculty who desire to follow that path. Dr. Hill was involved at, or near, the ground floor in the establishment of CSKLS, and has served that organization faithfully and enthusiastically."

CSKLS is a national organization for professors at Christian colleges and universities who teach in areas of health, kinesiology, recreation and leisure. The Presidential Award recognizes an individual who has made contributions that provide valuable support to CSKLS and its goals. It is awarded by the current president of the organization. Hill will be serving as president of CSKLS in 2010.

Hill received his bachelor's degree in physical education and history from ACU in 1967, his master's degree in physical education from the University of Florida in 1968 and his doctorate in health education from Texas A&M University in 1973.
